A consortium of investors is being put together, including both our franchisees and our devoted customers. Our intention is to rename the Bell Centre, which would then become "The Sauce Bowl". I wish to say thank you to all those that have sent their best wishes to me. My recovery from the fall has been slow, but is progressing well.
I also wish to thank all that have supported our new Dic Ann's Classique concept (Dic Ann's "sans legumes").
To those few that are not happy with my decision to go back to our roots - that is "no onions, no lettuce, no tomatoes" in our NEW stores, I will be glad to discuss this with you as soon as I get back on my feet.
Following the success of this Classique store in St. Eustache, we will soon be announcing another Classique store in the Montreal area!!

Nous sommes encore ici! Nous regrettons qu'il n'avait pas"des nouvelles" pour quelques semaines, mais M. Dic a subit d'un chute pendant son travaille (il y a 90 ans) - il a blessé sa jambe, et on prends soins de M. Dic chez lui.
We are sorry for not posting any news in the last few weeks, but Mr. Dic had a fall at work, and we have been taking care of him at home. He is 90 years old, so the healing process may take time. We regret this inconvenience, and look forward to his recovery.

This year has been an historic one for Dic Ann's. First of all, Mr. Dic turned 90 years old, and it is his inspiration that led us to begin a new expansion with the "Dic Ann's Classique" concept that has been such a great success in St. Eustache. We would like to thank all of our franchisees for their effort to continue our great 55 year old tradition. Colette, Lawrence, Danielle, Robert, Ysabel, Maurice, Nathalie, André, Eric, Jevanne, Richard, Mohammad, Lloyd, Aaron, Sonia, Cathy, Fred, and Stephane. We are proud of you, and thank you for the great work that you have done. And thank you, Nino and Jessica for leading Dic Ann's into the future, through your belief, dedication and hard work. Mr. Dic himself sends you his thanks and he is very proud of what both of you have accomplished. He has recently turned 90 years old, but he proudly remembers the days long ago when he had lengthy conversations with René in Montreal Nord.! (before fame and fortune, when all of us had dreams ... I think we can all be proud of what you have done to make Montreal and Quebec proud!!!) My dad who just passed away has asked us as last wishes for us to go to Dic Ann’s and order him the following:
3 hamburgers, a French fries with salt and vinegar, and since he was undecided between a coke and a rootbeer, he shall have both.
We have decided to do this on September 13th at 2h00pm.
I am writing to let you know since I do not know how many people will actually come. We will be at least 10, but it can easily become 100. I am aware that your restaurant has a capacity of 76 and that you are a restaurant for the general public. I am not asking any special treatment, I just want to let you know out of respect.

Congratulations to the entire Canadian Equestrian team on their fine performance at this year's Olympics in Beijing. We are particularly proud that Brigitte Potenza, vice president of Dic Ann's, hand made and furnished the Canadian team with the red and white trimmed flybonnets ( as Hickstead is wearing in these photos).
Félicitations à l'Équipe Equestre Canadienne pour leur grande performance pendant les jeux olympiques à Beijing. Nous sommes particulièrement fière de Brigitte, vice-présidente de Dic Ann's , qui a fabriqué à la main et qui a fourni à l'équipe Canadienne les capines avec le rouge et le blanc.(comme porté par Hickstead dans cette photo).

Today, at Monas restaurant Equipment, (our equipment supplier for over 30 years), we witnessed a bold attempt to liberate George's prized ( but caged ) parrots. The plot was foiled by Frank, with the help of Saf. One witness said that the bird (who was attempting to liberate George's parrots from their cages) entered through the front door. Once the plot was discovered, Frank attempted to capture the villain, but at last report, the bird was holed up in a large sauce pot (see photo).
Aujourd'hui, chez Monas Equipment de restaurant, (notre fournisseur depuis 30 ans), nous avons été témoin de la tentative de libération des perroquets de George Monas. Le coupable a été intercepté par Frank, avec l'aide de Sef. Un temoin a dit que l'oiseau ( qui a essayé de liberer les perroquets de George de leur cages), a rentré par la porte avant du magasin. Quand Frank a découvert le coupable, il a essayé d'attraper le vilain, mais au dernier rapport, l'oiseaux était encore caché dans une grande marmite. (voir photo)

Christianne Fournier est arrivée à Montréal, en 1986, de Causapscal, Gaspésie. Elle a commencé à travailler chez Dic Ann's le 29 juillet, 1988. Aujourd'hui, nous voulons célébrer sa 20 iéme année de service chez Dic Ann's Montréal -Nord. Nous sommes fière de son sourire, son service courtois et sa contribution impeccable à la chaine de restaurants Dic Ann's.
Ses intérêts sont ses trois filles, la lecture, les voyages et la moto. Son rêve serait d'avoir une licence pour piloter un avion dans la prochaine année.
Christianne Fournier arrived in Montreal, from Causapscal, in the Gaspé, in 1986. She began her employment at Dic Ann's on the 29 of July, 1988. Today, we celebrate her 20th year of service at the original Dic Ann's location in Montreal North. We are proud to recognize her pleasant smile , her courteous service, and her undeniable contribution to the Dic Ann's restaurant chain.
She sites as her interests her three daughters, reading, traveling, and motorcycling. Her dream is to acquire a pilot's license to fly an airplane, something that she would like to do in the next year or so.

Hani Chiniara, est résident de Cartierville et s'est porté acquéreur, en 2004, de ce spectaculaire Chevrolet Nova 1970, de son ami, Alain Lefebvre. Cette voiture est très reconnue dans les courses d'accelération à travers le Québec, l'Ontario et les États-unis, et ce, tant au niveau des records de vitesse que des records de "wheelies".
Temps record sur piste de 1/4 de mille ....7.74 secondes à 180 MPH .....record de wheelie au Quebec : 660 pieds les roues avant dans les airs......1500 H.P.

Today, we celebrate Kenny Richey's 20 years of service at Dic Ann's. Originally from the town of Sidney, on Cape Breton Island, in Nova Scotia, Kenny came to Montreal in 1968. In fact, his first place of residence in Montreal was on Hebert St. in Montreal North, only 2 blocks from the original Dic Ann's. On April 6, 1988, he began to work at Dic Ann's Chomedey, and has since then become "The Saucemeister", in charge of making the special sauce for all 10 of our locations. His dedication is such that Kenny has not "called in sick" a single time during the entire 20 years, an accomplishement that makes him the Cal Ripken of our industry! From all of us at Dic Ann's, thank you Kenny for your good humour, competence and dedication.
Aujourd'hui, nous félicitons Kenny Richey pour ses 20 ans de services chez Dic Ann's.
